Software & Trading Risk Disclosure

This disclosure explains the nature of the SIPSALGO platform as analytical software, and sets out important information about the limitations of backtested, simulated and historical results referenced across SIPS. It should be read alongside the Terms of Service and the other policies listed on the Legal & Compliance page.

Last updated: 8 September 2026

Key points to understand

A short summary of the principles behind this disclosure. The complete disclosure below provides the full context.

Analytical software

SIPS provides tools for analysing strategies and portfolios. Analytical outputs are information, not predictions.

Historical results

Backtests describe historical or simulated behaviour and cannot guarantee future trading results.

Simulated outcomes

Monte Carlo and other simulations explore possible ranges of outcomes. They do not show what will definitely happen.

User responsibility

The user remains responsible for portfolio selection, deployment, risk settings and trading decisions.

1. Purpose of This Disclosure

This disclosure sets out important information about the SIPSALGO platform (“SIPS”), including the nature of the software, the limitations of historical, backtested and simulated results referenced across the platform, and where responsibility sits between SIPS and the user.

It is written for prospective and current users of SIPS, and is intended to be read alongside the SIPS Terms of Service and the other policies listed on the Legal & Compliance page.

2. Nature of the SIPSALGO Platform

SIPS is software for analysing trading strategies and constructing, comparing and reviewing portfolios. In broad terms, SIPS provides:

  • structured analysis of individual strategies against quality, consistency and behaviour measures
  • tools for constructing and comparing portfolio candidates
  • robustness and Monte Carlo simulation
  • trade-distribution and concentration analysis
  • structured reporting intended to support — not replace — a portfolio decision

SIPS is analytical and decision-support software. It is not a broker, does not hold or control customer funds, and does not place or execute trades on a user’s behalf.

3. No Investment Advice

Nothing produced by SIPS constitutes investment, financial, legal or tax advice, and nothing on the SIPSALGO website should be read as a personal recommendation.

  • Analytical outputs, scores, comparisons and reports are descriptive, not prescriptive.
  • SIPS does not assess whether any particular strategy or portfolio is suitable for any individual user.
  • Users should seek independent professional advice where appropriate before making trading or investment decisions.

4. Trading and Investment Risk

Trading and investment activity carries risk, including the risk of losing some or all of the capital involved. Depending on the instrument, account type and leverage used, losses can in some circumstances exceed deposited capital.

Analytical software such as SIPS can help structure research and comparison, but it cannot remove or reduce the underlying risk of trading. General risk factors include, among others:

  • market risk and price volatility
  • the effect of leverage
  • liquidity and execution risk
  • drawdown and capital-at-risk
  • the possibility that a strategy or portfolio underperforms its historical or simulated profile

5. Historical and Backtested Performance

Where SIPS displays backtested results, those results are generated by reconstructing how a strategy would theoretically have performed against historical market data. Backtested performance is not actual trading performance.

Important

Backtested results are hypothetical. They are subject to limitations including hindsight bias, curve fitting and the quality of the underlying historical data, and should never be treated as a reliable predictor of future results.

6. Simulated and Monte Carlo Results

SIPS’s Monte Carlo and other simulation features explore a range of plausible outcomes, typically by resampling or modelling historical or backtested data. These features are designed to show a range of possible behaviour, not a forecast of what will happen.

  • Simulated outcome ranges depend on the assumptions, methodology and data used to generate them.
  • Different assumptions can produce materially different ranges from the same underlying strategy or portfolio.
  • A simulated range, however wide or narrow, is not a promise or prediction of future results.

7. Strategy and Portfolio Analysis

SIPS’s Strategy Intelligence and Portfolio Intelligence features apply structured, consistent measures — covering quality, consistency, behaviour, correlation and diversification, among others — to the strategies and portfolios a user analyses.

These measures are descriptive analytical readings of the data made available to SIPS. They are not certifications of quality, robustness or suitability, and do not constitute a recommendation to select, combine or deploy any particular strategy or portfolio.

8. Portfolio Diversification and Correlation

Correlation and diversification measures shown in SIPS describe historical relationships between strategies over the data available at the time of analysis.

Please note

Relationships between strategies can change over time. Strategies that show low historical correlation are not guaranteed to remain uncorrelated in the future, including during periods of market stress.

9. Drawdown and Risk Metrics

Drawdown, volatility and other risk metrics shown within SIPS are calculated from historical or simulated data available to the platform.

Actual future drawdown for a live strategy or portfolio may exceed any range shown in a historical backtest or a simulated outcome distribution. Risk metrics describe the past or a modelled range of possibilities; they do not set a ceiling on what can happen going forward.

10. Live Performance and MT5 Data

SIPS can receive and display account, trade and performance information from a connected MT5 account through the SIPS Bridge/Connector, so you can monitor how a deployed strategy or portfolio is actually performing.

Important

This connection is read-only. The SIPS Bridge does not itself place, modify or execute trades — it observes and reports what has already happened in your own MT5 account. Placing, modifying and executing every trade remains between you and your broker/MT5 platform, entirely outside SIPS’s analytical monitoring role.

Live results can differ from historical or backtested results, and connectivity or data delivery can be interrupted or delayed — for example during a broker/platform outage, network interruption, or maintenance. A monitoring gap or delay does not itself mean your account or trades were affected; it means SIPS’s own visibility into them was.

11. Data Quality and Imported Information

SIPS analyses information imported or made available by the user within the platform, including strategy and trade data sourced from third-party tools such as StrategyQuant X (SQX).

The quality of SIPS’s analytical output depends on the completeness and accuracy of the data supplied to it. SIPS does not independently verify the accuracy of third-party or user-supplied data, and cannot correct for errors, gaps or inconsistencies present in the source data.

12. Software Availability and Technical Risk

Like any software, SIPS may from time to time be subject to downtime, errors, delays, maintenance or other interruptions.

Analytical outputs, reports and other features may be delayed, temporarily unavailable, or affected by technical issues. Users should not rely on continuous, uninterrupted availability of any SIPS feature when making time-sensitive decisions.

13. Third-Party Platforms and Services

SIPS may reference or connect with independent third-party platforms and services, including strategy-development tools such as StrategyQuant X and trading platforms such as MT5.

  • SIPS and any referenced third-party service are separate, independently operated services.
  • SIPS does not control, and is not responsible for, the availability, accuracy or performance of third-party platforms or services.
  • Use of any third-party platform or service is governed separately by that provider’s own terms and policies.

14. User Responsibility

Ultimate responsibility for reviewing, selecting, deploying and monitoring any strategy or portfolio rests with the user. This includes responsibility for:

  • reviewing analytical output critically before acting on it
  • portfolio selection, position sizing and risk settings
  • deployment decisions and ongoing monitoring of live results
  • compliance with applicable laws and the terms of any broker or third-party service used alongside SIPS

15. No Guarantee of Future Performance

Nothing on the SIPSALGO website or within the SIPS platform should be read as a guarantee, promise or assurance of any particular trading outcome or level of performance.

Past, historical, backtested, simulated or live performance, where shown, is not a reliable indicator of future results.

16. Changes to This Disclosure

This disclosure may be updated periodically to reflect changes to SIPS, its features, or applicable legal and regulatory requirements. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
