MT5 Portfolio Monitoring
Monitor MT5 accounts and portfolios in one place.
Connect an MT5 account to SIPSALGO with the read-only SIPS Bridge and monitor live performance, positions, trading activity, portfolio strategies and behaviour, without giving the Bridge any control over trade execution.
Read-only monitoring
- Your MT5 terminalYour account, trading as normal

Read-only by design
The SIPS Bridge observes. It never trades.
The SIPS Bridge is read-only. It reports your MT5 account, position, trade and history data to SIPS, and never places, closes or modifies trades, changes stop loss or take profit, or copies trades.
- A small Expert Advisor you attach in your own MT5 terminal.
- It reports account, position, trade and history data back to SIPS.
- No MT5 trading password is needed for the Bridge.
- It pairs only with the account number and server you entered; otherwise pairing is refused.
Two ways to connect
Standalone or portfolio monitoring.
Choose how an MT5 account connects to SIPS, depending on whether it trades a SIPS portfolio.
Standalone EA
Monitor an MT5 account
- Monitors an MT5 account without assigning a SIPS portfolio
- Shows the account's live trading and performance data
- Gets its own permanent connection ID
Portfolio EA
Monitor a SIPS portfolio live
- Connects the MT5 account to a SIPS portfolio you select
- Adds portfolio context and per-strategy live performance
- Compares live behaviour with the portfolio's own history
Live account analytics
Your MT5 trading, as it happens.
The Dashboard brings live results from your connected accounts together. An account without a portfolio has its own account detail page.
Live P/L and KPIs
Net P/L and the account's key figures, with Overall, Yearly, Monthly, Weekly and Today views.
Equity and balance
The account's equity and balance as reported by the Bridge, and a cumulative net P/L chart.
Live return
Return is shown where SIPS has a defensible starting balance for the account; otherwise it shows a dash, not a guess.
Drawdown
Current, maximum and daily drawdown measured from the account's own reported data.
Positions and trades
Open positions and recent trades from your connected accounts.
Connection state
Whether each connection is Connected, Stale or Disconnected, or still a Pending Setup waiting to pair.
Figures appear as the Bridge reports them. Where the evidence for a figure isn't available, SIPS shows a dash rather than an estimate.
Portfolio monitoring
Follow a live portfolio strategy by strategy.
For a portfolio-connected account, View Portfolio is the full live view of that portfolio.
View Portfolio
One full page per connected portfolio, opened from the Dashboard, with the same time filters and KPI grid.
Live equity curve
The portfolio's live equity curve over the selected period.
Live Strategy Performance
One row per strategy identified from MT5 trading, with its live P/L, Profit Factor, Win Rate, trades and behaviour.
Broker Costs
How gross trading P/L becomes net P/L after commission, swap / financing and other broker fees.
Portfolio Contribution
Each strategy's share of the portfolio's live P/L for the selected period.
Calendar, trades and history
A trading calendar, recent trades filterable by direction, strategy and symbol, and the account's MT5 history settings.
Portfolio figures cover the trading identified to the portfolio's strategies, while account figures cover the whole MT5 account, so the two can differ when the account also carries other trading. See Live Portfolio Detail.
Strategy attribution
Identified from MT5 trading evidence.
SIPS uses factual MT5 execution evidence, including Magic Number mapping, to identify which of a portfolio's strategies are actually trading.
- Live trades are matched to the portfolio's strategies by Magic Number.
- SIPS shows how many of the portfolio's strategies have been identified so far.
- Trades that cannot be confidently matched to a SIPS strategy remain unmapped, including manual trades.
- Deposits and withdrawals never count as trading P/L.
Historical vs live behaviour
Is live trading still behaving like its history?
For a connected portfolio, SIPS compares how each strategy and the portfolio are trading live with comparable periods of their own history.
Return
How live returns compare with comparable periods of the portfolio's or strategy's own history.
Drawdown
Whether live drawdown sits inside the range seen historically, or beyond it.
Trade Frequency
Whether the portfolio is trading noticeably more or less often than its history suggests.
- Building Sample
- Outperforming
- Normal
- Watch
- Deviation
- Action Needed
This measures how current behaviour compares with historical evidence. It is not a prediction, investment advice or a promise about future performance. Read how Historical vs Live Behaviour works.
Trading limits
Track your own limits, including prop-style targets.
Set a Profit Target, Maximum Drawdown and Daily Drawdown for an account, and follow your progress against them in Prop Account Progress.
- These are monitoring limits you configure yourself, not official prop-firm rules.
- Progress shows as Within Limits, Watch or Action Needed, with drawdown history and the last 30 days of daily drawdown.
- SIPS shows these limits. It does not close trades or stop the account when a limit is reached.
How it works
From MT5 terminal to live monitoring.
The full step-by-step setup is in Connecting an MT5 Account.
01
Choose the connection type
On your Dashboard, click Connect MT5 Account and choose Standalone EA or Portfolio EA.
02
Enter the MT5 account details
Your MT5 account number, the server exactly as MT5 shows it, and a Start Syncing From date.
03
Download the SIPS Bridge
SIPS creates a Bridge file for that pending connection, ready to download.
04
Install and attach in MT5
Place the Bridge in MT5, complete the documented terminal settings and attach it to one chart.
05
Let it pair and sync
The Bridge pairs only with the account and server you entered, then syncs history from your chosen date and reports live.
06
Monitor in SIPS
Review live results on the Dashboard, then open View Portfolio or the account's own detail page.

FAQ
MT5 monitoring questions.
Does SIPSALGO trade on my MT5 account?
Not through monitoring. The SIPS Bridge is read-only: it reports your account, positions, trades and history to SIPS, and never places, closes or modifies trades.
Does the SIPS Bridge need my MT5 trading password?
No. You enter your MT5 account number, server and a sync start date. No MT5 password is needed for the Bridge.
Can I monitor an MT5 account without linking a SIPS portfolio?
Yes. A Standalone EA connection monitors an MT5 account without assigning a portfolio.
What changes when I connect an MT5 account to a SIPS portfolio?
A Portfolio EA connection adds the portfolio's context: per-strategy live performance and historical-vs-live behaviour, wherever live trading can be matched to the portfolio's strategies.
How does SIPS identify which strategy made a trade?
From factual MT5 execution evidence, using Magic Number mapping. Trades that cannot be confidently matched to a SIPS strategy, including manual trades, remain unmapped.
Is MT5 monitoring the same as the SIPS Trade Copier?
No. Monitoring only observes and reports. The Trade Copier is a separate, opt-in product that copies trades from a Master account to Slave accounts.
